Now that virtual healthcare is ubiquitous, behavioral scientists must tackle complex healthcare problems from a distance. In this live conversation between Jennifer La Guardia of Omada Health and Aline Holzwarth of Pattern Health, the two behavioral scientists will talk all things behavior change in the context of digital healthcare — from the unique challenges of remote care to the types of behavioral interventions that work from afar.
Dr. La Guardia is a behavior scientist, clinical psychologist, and educator with 20+ years experience promoting motivational approaches to health behavior change, management of chronic illness (e.g., overweight/obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, MSK), and improving mental health. She is also an expert in Self-Determination Theory (SDT), one of the leading psychological theories on motivation. In her work she has designed, implemented, and evaluated large scale health behavior interventions (‘live’, web-based, mobile health) and her work brings practical solutions for implementing best healthcare practices within employee and community populations. Currently, she is Director of Clinical Product & Behavior Science at Omada Health, Inc. In her role she leads strategic vision and application of evidence-based best practices in behavior science to develop products and care team interventions for lifestyle behavior change, chronic disease management, and mental health management.
